Biosketch
Dr. Sakiani is an assistant professor of medicine and is board certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and transplant hepatology. He completed his transplant hepatology training at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio and is currently part of the transplant hepatology team at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Prior to this, he served as co-Director of Hepatology at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Sakiani has clinical expertise in the management of liver transplant patients, as well as viral hepatitis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, alcoholic liver disease, and cirrhosis of the liver. In addition, he has a special interest in cystic fibrosis liver disease and has published his research performed in collaboration with the National Institutes of Health.
He remains an active member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD), the American Gastroenterology Association (AGA), and the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG).
